Annual scientific Conference «Shlykovskie chteniya»
About the Conference
The conference is named after Vitaly Vasilyevich Shlykov (1934-2011), a legendary Soviet military intelligence officer and one of the leading Russian experts in the field of military economics of the USSR and NATO countries. His work as Deputy Chairman of the USSR State Committee for Defense Affairs, his participation in the creation of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy and his scientific work at the Higher School of Economics laid the foundations for an integrated approach to the analysis of military-economic processes.
«Shlykovskie chteniya» forms a space for the development of a professional expert community, interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange between different generations of specialists. The conference continues the traditions of the Russian school of military economics and strategic analysis, creating conditions for developing solutions that meet modern challenges.
The main topic of 2026
In 2026, the key Topic of the conference is ensuring the sustainability of the military economy in the face of an escalating struggle for strategic resources and technology. The focus is on the issues of resource security of the military—industrial complex, the development of technological sovereignty, the stability of production and logistics chains, as well as the adaptation of national economies to sanctions pressure and global instability.
